Follow and support the journey of two local families fighting cancer

Two local families have been struck with the horrible news of their young children being diagnosed with cancer. Bodhi being diagnosed with T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukaemia and toddler Ruby Grace a Wilms tumour on her left kidney.

Devastating circumstances for anybody going through this but especially for those living rurally like in towns of Port Lincoln. Medical support for cancer means having to travel to Adelaide for treatment. Which becomes quite costly having to cover costs for travel, food, accomodation and the medical expenses on top of normal living expenses.
Shannon Preuss and Rebecca Smith have created a group on facebook to help fundraise to aid the families.
Shannon has gone through the struggle beforehand with her daughter Gabby being diagnosed in April 2021 with B-cell acute lymphoblastic Leukaemia. The community rallied and showed so much support including fundraising and car shows and stickers etc. So beautiful how everybody came together to support their family, and so kind and thoughtful for Shannon to want to help others in the same boat.
Gabby as bubbly as ever even fighting cancer.

Update on Gabby she has recently celebrated the end of her intensive treatment after a long two and a half years will now only be monthly check ups in Adelaide with the Oncology team for the next year, every year it will move out by a month for five years then just be annual check ups. Gabby is a thriving 4 year old and has been a trooper through all the treatment and will be starting school next year which is very exciting.

Celebrating Gabby's end of extensive treatment.

I know first hand how hard it can be with requiring medical expertise that is only available in Adelaide due to extensive Craniofacial treatment. My god daughter Amiyah who is my best friends daughter had also had Craniofacial work done as a baby it really packs a punch, financially, mentally and physically.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope you can help in any way possible.
